The Finnons are parents to three daughters: Ryah, Karis, and Sophia. Ryah and Karis were born in North Carolina, while Sophia was born after the family relocated to San Diego. Their family life and ministry work reflect their passion for community, worship, and seeing lives transformed by the presence of God.
As senior pastors, they are known for their dynamic preaching, prophetic ministry, and commitment to raising up leaders within the local and global church. Their heart is to see people experience God’s love in powerful and tangible ways while equipping them to live out their unique callings.
Who we are
Catch The Fire San Diego is a church that is impacting and embracing our city, our nation, and the nations of the world with the love of Jesus and the power of the Holy Spirit.
Catch The Fire is a local church based in San Diego, California. We desire the presence of God over any of our human plans, encountering Him and His transforming presence. We value humility, integrity, and health over gifting and anointing. We want all believers to find identity, freedom, wholeness, and healing in the Father’s love. We empower others, walking out The Great Commission by equipping and discipling.
What we Believe
We believe that there is only one true God who is the eternal King, Redeemer, and Creator of all that is. He is perfectly holy, loving, truthful, and just. He is one being in three persons, The Trinity: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. We believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, the one and only Son of God, who was conceived through the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, and is God’s Anointed One, empowered by the Holy Spirit to bring God’s kingdom on earth. He was crucified for our sins, died, was buried, resurrected, and ascended into heaven, and is now alive today, seated at the right hand of God the Father while still dwelling in His people. He is "fully God" and "fully man."
We believe the Bible is God's inspired and only infallible and authoritative Word.
We believe that humanity was created in the image of God to know and enjoy Him forever, yet willfully rejected the Lordship and glory of God for which we were intended. Because of this, death, sickness, and judgment entered the world, and as a result, creation experiences the effects and consequences of sin.
We believe that through faith in the person and work of Jesus Christ, we are saved by God’s grace. Anyone can be restored to a relationship with God through believing, repenting, and receiving Jesus as their Lord and Savior. Through the indwelling of the Holy Spirit and His ongoing, sanctifying power, we receive the spirit of adoption as we enter the kingdom of God as His sons and daughters, and as Christ's followers, we are enabled to live a holy life and minister supernaturally. The baptism of the Holy Spirit, according to Acts 1:4-8 and 2:4, is poured out on believers so that we might have God’s power to be His witnesses. We believe the victorious, redemptive work of Christ on the cross provides freedom from the power of the enemy – sin, lies, sickness, and torment.
We believe that the Church is not a location but, rather, is made up of all people who put their faith in Jesus Christ. Jesus gave His Church practices to observe baptism and communion. The Church exists to continue the ministry of Jesus Christ and further advance His kingdom by defeating the works of the enemy, preaching and living the good news of God’s love, and disciplining nations – baptizing and teaching them to love and obey God.
We believe that heaven and hell are real places. There will be a resurrection of the lost to everlasting death and the saved to everlasting life.
We believe in the ever-increasing kingdom of God and the Blessed Hope, which is the visible and glorious return of the Lord Jesus Christ to rule and reign with His bride – the Church.
We believe the Scriptures teach that marriage is the covenanting together of one man and one woman in a union to the exclusion of all others. This union is established by an authorized ceremony under God. Marriage is a unique reflection of God’s faithful love for all humankind. The relationship of husband and wife, as family, reflects the covenanting self-giving love between Christ and His Bride, the Church. The pledge of mutual faithfulness is not tentative or conditional. The permanent nature of the marriage bond gives security and promotes the development of a trusting relationship. The Church has a responsibility to care for, nurture, and prayerfully support the marriage relationship and the children of the union.
